Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced individual in the field of Construction Materials and Construction related Transportation. The qualified candidate will be a safety-minded, motivated, and possess strong Leadership skills. The primary responsibility will be the oversight of our Transportation Management System. This position will require supporting multiple business units and their transportation needs.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

-Oversight of the transportation department, including its assets and employees.
-Establish key performance and baseline measurements to gauge efficiency.
-Provide quality transportation services for internal and external customer base.
-Develop partnerships with outside carriers in shipping.
-Implementation of a Transportation Management System utilizing telematics and Central Dispatch model.
-Supervise scheduling of shipments.
-Manage performance of branch employees with emphasis on safety, productivity and efficient service delivery.
-Lead and champion all strategic initiatives related to transportation.
-Collaborate with other managers and staff members in order to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
-Must have ability to work effectively in a high pressure, multi-tasking environment that drive projects forward and meet or exceed deliverables.
-Performs other job related responsibilities and special projects as requested.

-Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Transportation, or Logistics; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient knowledge of asphalt paving and aggregate deliveries. Knowledge of job costing and estimating techniques. Professional ethics, tact, and courtesy in dealing with management, team members, vendors and customers. Proficient with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Libra and Telematics systems are preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid condition airborne particles, and extreme heat or cold.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, but may require protective equipment.
