What You Will Do:

-In this internship, expect to spend time with our Fiber Development, R&D, Paper Coatings, and/or Paper Operations teams. You'll also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with molded fiber manufacturing at our production site in Mason, Michigan and/or Lancaster, Pennsylvania
-Receive various tasks and assignments in a structured, yet flexible work and training program within Engineering and possibly other engineering or manufacturing groups
-Perform project work focusing on “hands on” involvement, such as in designing, ordering parts, fabricating, modifying, assembling, and testing prototype or production parts, machines, processes, and equipment
-Learn and use physical test equipment for pulp and handsheets (CSF, fiber analyzer, handsheet maker, tensile, tester, etc.). Use data obtained for analysis, recommendations, and project decision making.
-Assist technicians with assembly and disassembly of process equipment and components in order to diagnose issues
-Become proficient with operating molded fiber machines to facilitate troubleshooting, analysis, evaluation, implementation, and documentation of engineering solutions
-Perform engineering calculations, write test reports, assemble technical manuals, and provide training and
-support to manufacturing facilities
-Travel to vendors and/or plants, to assist in evaluating parts or verifying equipment operations, and/or production facilities to help inspect, test, or install machinery
 

What You Will Bring:

-Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior student status working towards a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in an engineering related field of study
-Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
-Strong verbal communication skills in order to clearly explain options and solutions to end-users
-Strong written communication skills demonstrating the ability to prepare outlines, reports, letters, and any other supplemental materials in a clear and concise manner
-Ability to identify issues, compare data, and investigate discrepancies
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy
-Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
-Able to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate
-Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects and priorities
-Ability to collaborate with team members
