This position may be filled as an Estimator, I, II, III, or Sr based on the experience and/or qualifications of the selected candidate.

Job Summary/Purpose

This position provides the estimation, detailed cost analysis, and financial compilations necessary for project evaluation, project authorization, and project management. Estimators work with the Project Managers/Project Team to develop cost estimates for Capital Projects in support of procedural requirements, and for direction, communication, and guidance to Project Managers.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

-Financial analysis including detailed project cost estimation and budget development.  
-Collect and analyze data to estimate the money, materials, labor, and time that a capital project requires, in addition to any associated overhead expenses.
-Convert project estimates to control budgets in accordance with the applicable code of accounts and work breakdown structure. 
-Analyze cost data, physical progress data, and schedule data to predict the prospective financial performance of the project; prepare annual expenditure budgets; and assess project risk registers to formulate mitigating contingency values as needed.
-Create reports of detailed estimates and project budgets for nuclear capital projects.
-Close coordination is required with Superintendents, Project Managers, Contract Managers, Engineering, Supply Chain, Financial Business Partners, Accounting, and Project Controls to ensure timely and accurate reporting of project estimates.
-Conduct field walkdowns.
-Perform final analysis during project closeout.

           

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position:

-Estimator, I, II, III: Desired: B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management, or applicable course of study or related work experience preferred.  Required for Estimator Sr.
-Estimator, Sr: 
Required: B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management, or applicable course of study or related work experience preferred. 
 

Minimum experience required of the position:

-Estimator I:  0+ years of estimating or equivalent experience to include field work.
-Estimator II:  2+ years of estimating or equivalent experience to include field work.
-Estimator III:  4+ years of estimating or equivalent experience to include field work.
-Estimator Sr: 6+ years of estimating or equivalent experience to include field work.

                                                                       

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position:

-Knowledge and experience in the management and control of large, complex utility capital projects.
