The Roofing Lead is a working field supervisor within the Facilities Management Division of Ethan Conrad Properties. This role is responsible for directing Roofing Technicians in the execution of roof repairs, preventative maintenance, coatings, and leak mitigation. The Roofing Lead ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and OSHA standards, while maintaining accurate documentation in Yardi and providing timely updates to the Roofing Foreman. Acting as a bridge between management and field staff, the Roofing Lead supports quality control, production oversight, and training of team members.

This position is responsible for:
Field Leadership & Supervision - Lead and supervise Roofing Technicians on daily assignments; ensure tasks are completed to company standards; train technicians on proper methods, safety compliance, and efficient work practices. Roof Repairs & Leak Mitigation - Perform and oversee repairs, preventative maintenance, and coatings; diagnose leaks and implement corrective solutions; support Foremen with inspections and condition assessments. Safety & Equipment Oversight - Enforce safety protocols, conduct jobsite safety checks, ensure proper use of PPE and fall protection; oversee use and care of materials, tools, and equipment. Quality Control & Documentation - Inspect work performed by the crew to confirm adherence to scope, warranty, and safety requirements; document work performed with photos, notes, and Yardi updates. Coordination & Communication - Provide regular updates to the Roofing Foreman on progress, issues, and needs; coordinate with Property Managers and tenants as directed to minimize project disruption. Administrative Support - Track labor hours and material use; assist Foremen in maintaining accurate job documentation and warranty compliance.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Strong working knowledge of commercial/industrial roofing systems (TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified, BUR, coatings, flashing, waterproofing). Ability to lead small crews, ensuring productivity, quality, and compliance. Skilled in troubleshooting, leak diagnostics, and repair execution. Effective communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to train and mentor technicians in technical skills and safety practices. You must have the ability to climb ladders, walk roofs safely, must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time, lift 50+ lbs., and work in outdoor conditions year-round. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Smart Phones (Take photos on phone and email/text pic). Ability to work in extreme environments, e.g. hot sun, below freezing, crawl spaces, etc.
Required:
Knowledge of roofing which includes - BUR, Single Ply, EPDM, TPO PVC & Waterproofing Techniques and Products Must possess a Valid California Driver's License and maintain an acceptable driving record that meets company insurability standards,
Preferred:
OSHA 10/30 certification preferred
Compensation details: 21-32 Hourly Wage
