About the Role
As a New Product Development (NPD) Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the company's innovation and growth. Based in Kuantan Pahang (Plant: Cryovac Malaysia), this full-time position will allow you to contribute to the process development of products that cater to the needs of our diverse customer base.
What You'll be Doing
-Responsible and carrying out the NPD projects as per scheduled timelines. Report progress periodically to the required team.
-To provide process support to the manufacturing group, enabling product/process development and manufacturing efficiency and quality improvement to be achieved
-Custodian of the SOCs setting process lines and initiating process improvement activities to ensure productivity and quality improvement
-Support Process Engineer in process troubleshooting to ensure smooth and efficient production.
-Responsible for new raw materials, product and process development and Introduction which includes process specification, upgrades, trial runs in stages, and equipment commissioning and tuning.
-Responsible for Production supplies technical and commercial evaluation and vendor qualification and development.
-Responsible for Process capital requirement justification & coordination, line capability & capacity, manufacturing cost etc.
-Provide technical & training support to both manufacturing and AP sales force
-Responsible for assisting with Quality Assurance tasks (coordinating quality complaints, CAPA, liaising with customers on the related technical issues, etc)
What We're Looking For
-Bachelor of Science/ Engineering/ Equivalent, majoring in Chemical Engineering, Plastics Science or equivalent. Good communication skills in spoken and written English
-Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry, plastic processing industry experience is a plus.
-Hands-on experience and knowledge in computers, exposure to PLC factory automation system is a plus.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex challenges
-Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
