This position within Hill's Corporate Analytical Services is responsible as a key support team member for ensuring the effectiveness and advancement of Hill’s global analytical processes across manufacturing operations. This includes but is not limited to: 

-Plant support: choosing hardware, developing applications, training, technology transfer, validating and monitoring analytical lab data and instrumentation for the Hill’s Analytical and Contract Manufacturing laboratories. 

-Continuously enhancing Analytical processes, equipment and methodologies to support the Corporate Analytical program goals.

-Conventional and rapid on-line/in-line/at-line methods for process monitoring, control, and release of raw materials, premixes, and finished products.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

-Develop and execute strategies to enhance plant analytical capabilities, including validation, training, and implementation for ingredients and finished products.

-Provide expert support for equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and vendor service coordination.

-Provide leadership for efficient and effective execution of technology transfer processes for developed methods and equipment.

-Partner with plant quality and production teams to identify analytical needs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

-Analyze quality data and program results to recommend corrective actions and support operational excellence.

-Develop and maintain SOPs to support the Corporate Analytical program.

-Promote a collaborative and innovative team culture, driving continuous improvement and the exchange of best practices within the cross-functional group.

-Participate as a Corporate Quality auditor in quality audit programs internally and externally

-Support the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Hill’s rapid method analysis program and related standard operating procedures.

-Assist plant teams by providing technical guidance on rapid analytical methods, analyzing lab and plant data to identify trends and recommend workflow improvements.

-Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external laboratory partners to facilitate knowledge sharing and effective program support.

Basic qualifications include:

-BS in Chemistry, or equivalent Analytical Science.

-5 years Quality manufacturing/ Analytical experience

-2+ years experience with managing business/professional relationships

-2+ years scientific and technical knowledge of chemistry and analytical techniques. 

Preferred qualifications include:

-7+ years Quality manufacturing / Analytical experience in a Food or drug / cGMP environment

-3+ years managing external business/professional relationships

-Experience with pet food manufacturing processes; dry and/or wet

-Experience with Separation technologies (HPLC/GC/TLC/MS) 

-Certified Auditor

 

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range # , # - # , # USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
