Catering Assistant (Part-Time)

Location: Rochdale

Pay: GBP13.68

Hours: 12.5 hours per week (e.g., 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday-Friday)

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Catering Assistant for a temporary, part-time position at a Special Educational Needs school. This role requires a prompt start and is expected to last until November.

Due to the nature of the school environment, prior catering experience is essential to ensure the smooth operation of meal services. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and efficient individual with a strong commitment to food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

Serving nutritious meals to students and staff during lunch service.

Assisting with basic food preparation under the direction of the head cook.
*

Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and dining area.
*

Washing dishes, cutlery, and kitchen equipment.
*

Ensuring all food handling and storage procedures meet stringent hygiene standards.

Requirements:

Proven experience working in a catering or kitchen environment.

A valid Enhanced DBS check is required (or the willingness for one).
*

Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate is preferred.
*

Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a team.
*

A compassionate and patient demeanor, given the SEN school environment.
