Pay Rate: GBP14.50 - GBP16.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Location: Heswall, Wirral, postcode area CH60.
The Role:
As the School Chef / Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals that meet nutritional guidelines for primary school children. Your culinary skills and positive attitude will be essential in making mealtime a highlight of the school day.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
* Plan and prepare varied and balanced menus in line with school food standards.
* Cook and serve delicious meals for students and staff.
* Manage kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering, and inventory.
* Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment at all times.
* Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily tasks as needed.
* Accommodate dietary requirements and allergies.
Skills and Experience Needed:
* Proven experience as a chef or cook in a school or similar environment (essential).
* Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene certificate is required).
* Strong organisational and time-management skills to meet meal deadlines.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A positive attitude and a passion for creating healthy food that children will love.
* A valid DBS certificate (or be willing to obtain one).
