My client is one of Malaysia's leading Oil & Gas Operators and their current activities are due to last for the next 6 years and with other projects due to start over the next few years. They are currently in the process of expanding their office and have a number of exciting opportunities.

For their office in KL my client is currently looking for a Head of Mechanical Engineering. In this role you will be the person in overall charge of the mechanical department and will work alongside the heads of other divisions such as Process Engineering, Quality, E&I, structural etc. You will be responsible for leading and supporting the project team and be the 1st point of authority for all advice and recommendations for mechanical issues such as repairs.

For this position my client is looking for a candidate with a minimum of 15 years experience in Mechanical Engineering. You should have a strong technical ability with a solid understanding of rotating and static equipment and on top of this you should also have the managerial capabilities to head a department.

As this is a position with an operating company it is essential that you have extensive operating company experience and you should also have worked on a number of offshore projects. You will primarily be based onshore but will at times be required to travel offshore to carry out your duties. Other important requirements for this position are that you hold a degree in mechanical Engineering and also that you are able to speak English AND Malaysian.
